I decided to offer several different types of sample bellies. When I stared to work on them they were just for fun. I thought I would have them up to give people ides. Then I decided to sell them. 5x7 Mini bellies are for the instant gift on the go. Check out my esty store to buy one today or see them in person at Bee Mine Too in Richland, MI

Shawn's belly was a fun one to do. She posed in person and we discussed what she wanted in her belly. She wanted a tree of life, her little girl was born in December so she wanted snow. I decided on the camouflage and the dog tags to represent the pride she has in her husband for serving his country. Pink was the color of choice for her baby girl so the whimsical tree has pink leaves with a splatter painted snowy back ground. The dog tags has her baby's birth stats and their wedding date on it. Carlina messaged me about doing a Sarasota Springs, NY belly. More specifically Congress Park and the carousel. I loved the idea but I was really stumped on how to do this. I had recently learned about a xerox transfer technique on Pinterest. (I am a little obsessed with Pinterest) I found the images that I wanted and had my mom photocopy them for me at work. First you paint the canvas with a base coat and while it is still wet you press the copy to the paint and let it dry. Now mine did not turn out as clearly as the example I was going off of but I am really happy with what happened from there. Before I go any further I should mention that Carlina's is a special order, it is only 11x14. Normally I really don't like going smaller as there is less to work with but i really don't feel like this could have been done on a larger scale. So after it dried I had to rub away the paper using a wet cloth. I had to do this twice since the first time didn't take. This belly took MONTHS to do but it was so worth it. You can see the carousel building print but the horses ended up being a template so I got them accurate. I am really glad that it turned out the way it did. Jamie's belly was bought as a gift to her. She wasn't aware she was getting it. Her friend Samantha decided on the theme which was Valentines, hearts, and her 5 children. Jamie's 5th was due on Valentine's day. Inside the belly I did a colorful heart tree on bubbly snow. On the outside was a watercolor like rainbow gradation with black intertwining hearts that I did in Sharpie marker. I wrote each of her kids names in on the branches with the heart branches representing the parents and their love for them. I love how colorful it turned out. Britiany's bump was inspired by the month she gave birth, December! She wanted something to remind her that she gave birth on the 1st day it snowed last year. When I asked her about the color she wanted I decided to make it girly for her little snow flake. Her room has pink and purple. Britiany said she really like the high contrast paintings I do, so I did a blue gradation to the waning moon that was present on the day Little Snow Flake was born. I had a great time splatter painting the background in my shower as well as researching different designs for snowflakes. This is certainly one of my favorites so far. |
