I traced Kim's belly in person. Like we had discussed at Halloween I did the moon belly. I decided to do the sun on the outside like the traditional sun and moon pictures. I did the swirls with van Gogh in mind. I did the same moon as I did on her belly but refined it a little. I put copper studs around the outer edge of the sun.

Occasionally I get to paint on bellies. My friend Kim asked me to paint her belly for Halloween as a costume. It also became the way she was going to reveal the name of her new little boy to her family. We had a great time chatting while I decorated her belly with the moon theme, which will also be the theme to wall painting as well. Britiany's bump was inspired by the month she gave birth, December! She wanted something to remind her that she gave birth on the 1st day it snowed last year. When I asked her about the color she wanted I decided to make it girly for her little snow flake. Her room has pink and purple. Britiany said she really like the high contrast paintings I do, so I did a blue gradation to the waning moon that was present on the day Little Snow Flake was born. I had a great time splatter painting the background in my shower as well as researching different designs for snowflakes. This is certainly one of my favorites so far. |
