I am excited to bring a new painting to New Life in Color. This was originally intended for an alternative mainly for adoptive/ foster mothers. It is the first in a line of new ideas. It can also be ordered for weddings, engagements, the birth of a child, or other important events. Text can be added and can be on white or black background as of right now. 8.5 x 11 $30 unframed, $40 framed $5 shipping

I am super excited to say that I will be taking the month of August and a couple weeks in September off because my husband is finally home from deployment. I feel really lucky to have met so many fine photographers since moving to the Hampton Roads area. This time I worked with Keely Julson of Kiwi Marie Photography. She made our homecoming special! If you are in the Hampton roads area I highly recommend Kiwi Marie for all your photography needs (even maternity and newborn). Check out our blog post, give her Facebook page a like and tell her I sent you! http://www.kiwimariephoto.com/2012/08/best-family-reunion-hampton-roads-homecoming-photographer In an effort to do more advertising I made a sample for Bee Mine Too boutique in Richland, MI. It’s me at 39 weeks (the day before I was induced in to labor). I did the outside with traditional sailor tattoos. I love tattoos, and recently I have really gotten in to the Sailor Jerry style tattoo. They remind me of my husband. The pin up is the one on my husband's arm. Since he is still deployed at this time I did a sunset with a silhouette of his ship heading out across the Atlantic. You can see this painting in person at the Bee Mine Too Children’s Consignment 8080 N 32nd Street Richland, MI 49083 Like Bee Mine Too's Facebook Page and visit her website www.beeminetoo.com Shawn's belly was a fun one to do. She posed in person and we discussed what she wanted in her belly. She wanted a tree of life, her little girl was born in December so she wanted snow. I decided on the camouflage and the dog tags to represent the pride she has in her husband for serving his country. Pink was the color of choice for her baby girl so the whimsical tree has pink leaves with a splatter painted snowy back ground. The dog tags has her baby's birth stats and their wedding date on it. Megan wanted a Navy submarine on her belly for her husband. I made the undersea decoration around it like a comic because her son was in to Bubble Guppies. The outside of the belly represents her pride in her husband's job. I delivered her belly with a special surprise! Daisy Jean Photography took pictures of her belly for her. Check out her website and sign up for her newsletter at www.daisyjeanphotography.com When Chelsea came to my house to be traced, I asked what she would like to see on her belly. She said it was up to me. That is really tough to decide and hope that a person likes it. I had to rework it so many times. I am really happy with this one. Since she is a fellow Navy wife and from my hometown I finally decided to go Navy with a little bit of Michigan thrown in. Her husband is attached to the USS Eisenhower, which is an aircraft carrier. The beach was a must, in the Navy you are always near water but growing up in Michigan, a lake was never too far away. The light house itself is inspired by one I frequented in South Haven, MI. |
