Jamie's belly was bought as a gift to her. She wasn't aware she was getting it. Her friend Samantha decided on the theme which was Valentines, hearts, and her 5 children. Jamie's 5th was due on Valentine's day. Inside the belly I did a colorful heart tree on bubbly snow. On the outside was a watercolor like rainbow gradation with black intertwining hearts that I did in Sharpie marker. I wrote each of her kids names in on the branches with the heart branches representing the parents and their love for them. I love how colorful it turned out.

Shannon's was supposed to be a birthday present from me. However I didn't get started on it till 2 days before her birthday. January has been a bit crazy. My husband deployed for the 1st time and the pumpkin and I went to stay with my parents for a few months. While getting that all settled life got in the way of starting her belly. So on her birthday she received a canvas that was just purple and turquoise with some pencil lines on it. She didn't know I was doing one for her and I got to pick whatever I wanted to do. I really like doing the henna designs, I learned a lot about them from a couple of girls my first year teaching art. I love the intricate designs. Thank goodness she liked my idea. * the picture of the guy with the belly is my brother's friend Jake. He thought it would be fun to pose with it for me. |
