My friend Melissa of Work of Art Photography and Design commissioned this beautiful painting for her dear friend Natalie. Making sure she took a silhouette picture for me, we conspired to get the perfect painting. She wanted blue for a boy, green and jungle for the nursery, crowns for the little prince, golf balls for dad, and a bible verse for the rainbow baby. I am truly honored to be a part of this gift.

Deb's belly was purchased by her friend John during a benefit auction. I don't do them often but it was for a good cause. Deb is 37 weeks pregnant with twins and was scheduled to have them the next week. This painting is based off of 2 pictures from a trip to Jamaica. I textured the rocks using saran wrap and again I splatter painted the beach for that sandy look. I really love that this brings her back to a peaceful time in her life. When my business was in the beginning stages my aunt showed interest in getting one for my cousin Crosheena. I was really excited to do this since it would be my first real test of doing a belly from a digital image. I emailed Crosheena and had her email me a picture and we discussed a theme. She a wanted a jungle theme. I was inspired by the beautiful designs of these black and white flash cards I have for my son. I loved how the animals seemed to glow against the sky. Then came the next test as this would be the first canvas that I shipped. All went well! |
